Technicians — Managing Your Maintenance Contacts
The Technicians tab displays all contacts — both internal staff and external contractors — who can be assigned to maintenance job sheets. Rather than maintaining a separate list, this section pulls directly from your Supplier CRM, showing any contact tagged as a technician.
How Technicians Are Sourced
The Technicians list shows all contacts in your Supplier CRM that have been tagged as "technicians". This means you manage technician and contractor records in one place — the CRM — and they automatically appear here for job assignment.
To view or manage the full Supplier CRM, click the View Supplier CRM button in the top right of the Technicians tab.
What You Can See
The Technicians list displays the following columns for each contact:
Name — The technician or contractor's full name.
Company — The company they work for (e.g. Tennant, Henstock Technologies Pty Ltd, Matrix Process Solutions).
Email — Contact email address.
Phone — Contact phone number.
Supplier Contact Type Tag — The role tag assigned in the CRM (e.g. Technician, Manager, Sales, Admin). Contacts tagged as Technician are the ones eligible for job assignment.
Adding a New Technician or Contractor
Click + New Supplier CRM Contacts in the top right of the Technicians tab.
This will take you to the Supplier CRM to create a new contact.
Fill in the contact details and ensure you tag them with the Technician type so they appear in the Maintenance Module.
Save — the contact will now be available for assignment on job sheets.
Assigning Technicians to Job Sheets
When creating or editing a job sheet, you can assign it to:
A Contractor — an external company or individual from your Technicians list.
A Staff Member — an internal team member responsible for overseeing or completing the work.
Both fields are available directly on each job sheet row in the Job Sheets list, or within the full job sheet record.
Supplier Contact Type Tags
Contacts in the Supplier CRM can have multiple tags. The tags used in the Maintenance context are:
Technician — Can be assigned to job sheets as a contractor.
Manager — A contact at a supplier who manages the account or service relationship.
Sales — A sales contact at a supplier company.
Admin — Administrative contacts at supplier companies.
Tips
Make sure all your regular service contractors are added to the Supplier CRM and tagged as Technician before you start creating job sheets.
You can assign both a Contractor and a Staff Member to a job sheet — useful when an external technician is doing the work but an internal team member needs to supervise or sign off.
Keep contact details in the CRM up to date so your team can reach contractors quickly when urgent jobs arise.
